Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued In Central PA: NWS
UPDATE: The warnings expired at 11:30 a.m., according to NWS. ORIGINAL: A Tornado Warning has been issued in Lancaster County. A storm system capable of tornados and straight-line wind damage was over Quarryville at 10:49 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The warning was still in place at 11:15 a.m. "Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Little Britain, Christiana, White Horse, Kirkwood and Georgetown," NWS said. A tornado touched down in Central Pennsylvania on Monday, June 12, 2023, according to National Weather Service. The EF-0 tornado had estimated winds of 75 mph, with a track of about 1/3 mile and a width of approximately 130 yards, Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in State College explained. The tornado touched down in the area of Cloverleaf Road in Conewago Township around 1:30 p.m., according to the NWS.
