An undercover prostitution investigation at a Bergen County hotel turned up a loaded handgun, bogus driver's license, and a fake debit card, authorities said.
Carlstadt police responded to the hotel on Friday, April 10, around 10:53 p.m. as part of an investigation into the solicitation of prostitution, Detective Sgt. Mark Wong said in a Monday, Sept. 14 release.

A Pennsylvania man is accused of sexually abusing a child younger than 13 over several years, police said.
Dev Poudel, 50, of the 500 block of Wayne Drive in Mechanicsburg, was charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children, Upper Allen Township Police said.
Police were notified Thursday, Sept. 10, about the reported abuse. Investigators determined the abuse occurred over several years, authorities said.

The person was competing in the Mighty Hamptons Steve Tarpinian Memorial Olympic Triathlon, Newsday reported.

The blaze broke out at 1 West Burda Place in New City on Saturday, Sept. 12, at around 4:19 a.m., according to the Hillcrest Fire Department.
