Drugged Driver Strikes Bicyclist In Five Towns: Police
A stationary bicyclist was critically injured when a Subaru struck him in a suspected drug-impaired crash on Long Island, police announced Saturday, Sept. 19.
The 31-year-old man was stopped on his bicycle near Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue in Inwood when he was hit at 10:11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, according to Nassau County Police.
A 2018 Subaru traveling east on Burnside Avenue struck the bicyclist, investigators said.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.

Police are searching for more potential victims after a certified nursing assistant forcibly touched a disabled woman twice at a New York rehabilitation center, authorities announced Saturday, Sept. 19.
The incidents happened on Long Island at Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing, located at 49 Oakcrest Ave. in Middle Island, on Thursday, Sept. 3, and Friday, Sept. 4, according to Suffolk County Police.
The 32-year-old patient told another certified nursing assistant what had happened, police said. That employee called 911.

A teenager is in custody after a man was targeted in a fatal shooting in Pennsylvania, police announced Saturday, Sept. 19.
Alex Montes-Rivera, 19, was charged Friday, Sept. 18, in connection with the shooting that killed Daniel Matos, 33, of Lebanon, according to the Lebanon City Police Department.
Montes-Rivera faces charges of homicide, flight to avoid apprehension, and firearms not to be carried without a license, police said.

Andrew Chase Riehl, 24, of Ephrata, was running westbound through the eastbound lanes of Interstate 76 near mile marker 285.4 in East Cocalico Township around 9:27 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. Richard Levan.
