A brief break in the water turned into a fight for survival.
A US Navy civilian employee was critically injured in a shark attack on Monday, June 8, while swimming near a marina at Naval Support Activity Panama City in Florida, according to multiple reports, including NBC News.
The attack happened around 11:45 a.m. at the base’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Marina.
The man, who has not been publicly identified, is in his late 20s and works at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division, according to People.
