At 9 p.m., Newark police responded to Boys Park at Sussex Avenue and Duryea Street and located Raymeer Tarver suffering from gunshot wounds near a basketball court in the park, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Quahif Lane's sentence for aggravated manslaughter was handed down on Friday, May 26, by Union County Superior Court Judge Stacy Boretz, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. In September 2021, Plainfield Police responded to the 200 block of Garfield Ave and found Jamar Harris, a 36-year-old Newark resident, suffering from a gunshot wound, Daniel said. Newark Man Shot And Killed Tuesday Morning A Newark man was fatally shot early Tuesday morning on 20th Street, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.  The victim, 47-year-old Niles L.
