There will be temporary delays on I-84 and Route 17 in the area this week as contracting crews continue construction work in the area. Wind damaged trees falling across Route 9 has necessitated a major north-south road closing late Monday afternoon, Feb. 25. As of just before 4:30 p.m., Route 9 is closed from the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery’s main entrance to the Phelps Memorial Hospital entrance. Traffic Alert: I-84 Crash Causes Stop-Go Delays, Route 32 Reopens After Downed Pole
This story has been updated. Motorists had to endure two major slowdowns on I-84 and Route 32 in Orange County. The rollover crash occurred around 9:32 a.m. Monday on I-84 eastbound near Ext 8B in Newburgh. State police traffic is getting by, but traffic is backed-up and slowdowns are occurring. I-287 Fully Reopens After Gasoline Tanker Fire
This story has been updated. I-287 is now fully reopened after a fire broke out on a gasoline tanker in White Plains. All lanes both ways were initially closed between Exit 9A (I-684) and Exit 9 (Hutchinson River Parkway) after the incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, leading to the shutdown of the highway in both directions. Route 59 Reopens After Truck Hits Overpass

A stretch of Route 9 is closed after an overnight crash in which a vehicle damaged a utility pole on Tuesday, Jan. 29. The closure is near the Irvington-Dobbs Ferry border between Langdon Avene and Ardsley Avenue West. Motorists should follow the posted detours and expect delays. Crash Causes Gridlock On Tappan Zee Bridge During Evening Commute
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on the northbound (Rockland-bound) Tappan Zee Bridge following a crash that took out two lanes before being cleared. The crash occurred near the Rockland/Westchester line of the span, with stop-and-go delays stretching back miles on I-87 and I-287 back to White Plains just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. The lanes reopened by 6 p.m.
