21-Year-Old Morris County Woman Struck Parked Car While Drunk: Police
A 21-year-old Morris County woman was arrested and charged after she struck a parked car while drunk on the early morning of Sunday, April 21, police said.
At 3:29 a.m., Mount Olive police responded to Center Street for a car crash, officers said. Police located a Nissan Sentra that had struck a parked vehicle and was now in the roadway, officers said.
As officers spoke with the driver, Kelsey Chaplin, a Budd Lake resident, the odor of alcohol was detected and she appeared to be impaired, police said. After conducting field sobriety testing, Chaplin was arrested.

A 66-year-old Morris County man was stabbed at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan on Monday, April 22, authorities said.
Michael McCloskey, 42, of California, was taken into custody by Port Authority police officers who heard the victim's screams at the north subway mezzanine level of the terminal just before 5:45 a.m., Port Authority Police of New York and New Jersey, and its PBA said.

Two people were injured in a five vehicle crash involving multiple means of transportation on I-80 in Morris County the early morning of Friday, April 19, authorities said.
At 1:03 a.m., a crash occurred between a Toyota passenger vehicle, Harley Davidson motorcycle, Ford SUV, Ford pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on Route 80 West in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.

Driver, 20, Killed In Crash On I-295: Njsp
A 20-year-old driver from Morris County was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 295 in Mercer County, authorities said.
The man was driving a Nissan SUV north at milepost 60.6 in Hamilton at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday, April 14, when he veered off the highway to the left and collided with a concrete bridge support and guardrail, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
The driver, from the Kenvil section of Roxbury, died at the scene. His identity will be released pending notification of next of kin, Lebron said.
The investigation is active, police said.
Truck Overturns In Three-Vehicle Crash: Njsp
Two trucks and a car collided in a three-car crash on Thursday, April 11 on Route 80 in Morris County, causing one of the trucks to overturn, authorities said.
At 1:58 p.m., a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a Subaru passenger vehicle and an Isuzu box truck were traveling westbound on Route 80 in Rockaway Township when they collided, causing the Isuzu to overturn, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
The driver of the Subaru sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
Three Paterson Residents Committed Check Fraud: Denville PD
A trio from Paterson were arrested and charged on Wednesday, April 10 with passing bad checks in Morris County, police said.
Officers investigated a report of check fraud at a local bank, Denvile police said in a release. The investigation led to the arrest of Oliver Hall, 51, Ramon Olivo-Olivia, 46 and Marilyn Morel-Diaz, police said.
They were charged with bad checks, conspiracy and unlawful taking of moveable property, police said. Morel-Diaz was also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power Thursday, April 4 following a nasty storm that brought gusty winds and heavy rain to the region on Wednesday, April 3.
As of 8 a.m., 8,000 Monmouth County residents were without power mainly in Freehold, Highlands, and Middletown (4,000), according to JCP&L.

A gunman who robbed a business in Parsippany on Friday, March 1 is being sought by police.
Officers responded to a business at 1280 Route 46 for the robbery, Parsippany police said on Facebook.
The suspect, armed with a handgun, was described as a tall, slender man with wearing all black clothing, a white trucker-style hat and white sneakers, police said.
