Seton Hall University awarded 2,337 students with diplomas at its commencement ceremony on Monday, May 22. And one very special dog. Justin, a service dog for student Grace Mariani, received his own special diploma at the ceremony held at the Prudential Center in Newark after accompanying her to all of her classes. A Burlington County man has been accused of selling a handgun to a juvenile after two students were found with the weapon at Morris Knolls High School in March. Dwayne E. Allen, 21, of Palmyra, was charged with second-degree unlawful sale of a firearm to a juvenile, unlawful sale of a firearm, unlawful possession of a high-capacity magazine, and several other weapons offenses, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. The mother of a high school student in Somerset County has filed a lawsuit claiming that the district failed to take action against the bullying and harassment leading up to her transgender child’s death by suicide. Bathroom Fire Evacuates Morris County Elementary School
A Morris County elementary school was evacuated as crews responded to a bathroom fire on Monday, May 1, authorities said. The Morris Township Fire Department responded to the blaze at the Woodland Avenue School on Johnston Drive, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Meghan Knab told Daily Voice. A Passaic County high school is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved teachers. Fady Hanna, an English teacher at Manchester Regional High School in Haledon since 2020, was remembered by Schools Superintendent Gary Lubisco Jr. as "an engaging teacher," who made students feel excited to attend class.
