A man was shot Monday night, Jan. 22 at a Hilton hotel in Alexandria, NBC Washington reports. It happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center on Seminary Road, the outlet said. The man was hospitalized with serious injuries and a suspect was in custody, according to NBC. There is a moderate police presence in the 5000 block of Seminary Rd. for a weapon violation. Suspect is in custody and the weapon was recovered. Machete-Wielding Man Arrested Weeks After Alexandria Assault: Police
A man has been arrested weeks after assaulting another person with a machete during a domestic dispute in Alexandria, police said. Kory Anding, 28, is believed to have struck another man in a building on the 5400 block of N. Morgan during an argument on Dec. 23, 2023, Alexandria Police said. Anding was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 11, and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He was being held without bond.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that left a residential Alexandria neighborhood shaken this week. Eric Holmes Jr., 29, was found dead on the 800 block of W Glebe Road Monday, July 24 around 11:30 a.m., city officials said. Murder Suspect Charged In Alexandria Homicide: Police
Authorities have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man in Alexandria's first homicide of the year, they said. Dontae LaShawn Drumgold, of Prince Willian County, is believed to have killed 25-year-old Elijah Williams, who was found dead in on the sidewalk around 6:50 a.m. on the 4500 block of Raleigh Avenue on March 23, police said. One firefighter was injured battling a midday blaze in the Old Town neighborhood in Alexandria on Wednesday afternoon, officials say. Crews from the Alexandria Fire Department were called at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 to the 200 block of South Fairfax Street, where there were reports of a fire inside an area townhouse.
