Shock and sadness spread following the death of Kevin McLinton, a former standout basketball player for the University of Maryland and loving Arlington dad.
McLinton, 52, had asked for prayers on Facebook on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from a hospital bed. That very day, the team announced his passing.

Sandra Smith Bellfield, affectionately known as Nunee, died on March 26, 2024. She was 48 years old.
According to a GoFundMe launched for her family, Sandra died of anoxic brain injury.

Steven Jermaine Faison, Jr., 27, was driving a Hyundai Accent with a female passenger when he was struck by a stolen and speeding Volkswagen Golf in Alabama Avenue and 25th Street Thursday, March 14, Metro DC police said.
Faison and his passenger were ejected from the car, killing Faison at the scene. The passenger was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and the Golf driver fled the scene on foot.
