HS Athlete Leads Troopers On 100MPH Chase Before Crashing Into Vehicle: PA State Police A 19-year-old high school athlete led state troopers on a chase— at times traveling at speeds up 100 mph— before he crashed into another vehicle on Friday night, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police. Brett Robert Birch, of Jeanette, was clocked going 91 mph in a 55 zone along Parkway East in Monroeville around 9:20 p.m. on Mar. 18, the Pittsburgh patrol unit stated in the release.
