Selden resident Thomas Macy was driving a 2019 Ford van southbound on Deer Park Road near the intersection of East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, when he rear-ended an SUV, Suffolk County Police said. The SUV then struck a four-door sedan. Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart said that Macy’s van became fully engulfed in flames. Carousel Ride Operator Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Child At Smith Haven Mall An operator of the carousel ride at the Smith Haven Mall has been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl, police said. Louis Shelton, 50, of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, was arrested this week and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, Suffolk County police announced on Thursday, June 6.
