One of three occupants in an SUV that slammed through a fence and into a wooded area off Route 17 early Monday afternoon was hospitalized, witnesses said. A Paramus police officer spotted the BMW X5 speeding but didn't pursue it, contrary to media reports, a source with direct knowledge of the incident said. Two State Troopers Injured During Traffic Stop On Route 78:

Two state troopers were hospitalized after their vehicle was struck during a traffic stop in Hunterdon County on the early morning of Sunday, Feb. 25, state police said. At 2:50 a.m., troopers were conducting a motor vehicle stop on the right shoulder of Route 78 west in Readington Township when the driver of a Toyota lost directional control and sideswiped the police car, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The troopers sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.

Driver Hospitalized After Crashing Into Farming Equipment In Warren County: State Police
A driver was taken to a nearby hospital after crashing into a set of farming equipment in Warren County on Monday afternoon, Nov. 13, state police said. A Dodge pickup was heading eastbound on Buckhorn Drive in White Township when the driver lost directional control and struck the equipment around 2:30 p.m., NJSP Det. Two people were taken to a local hospital after a vehicle flipped onto its roof on Route 78 in Hunterdon County Sunday morning, Sept. 17, responders said. The Whitehouse Rescue Squad responded to the crash on the westbound side in Readington and found the vehicle upside-down with one occupant still trapped inside. Fire crews from Whitehouse and Oldwick assisted in extricating the remaining occupant and stabilizing the vehicle before EMS professionals from Hunterdon Health transported two patients to nearby hospitals for additional evaluation and treatment.

A motorist died during a medical emergency that resulted in a crash in Hunterdon County, authorities said. New Jersey State troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 78 westbound near milepost 20.2 in Lebanon Borough at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. Two people were airlifted to the hospital and one person taken by ambulance after a crash in Sussex County on Labor Day Weekend, authorities said.
