Jackknifed Tractor Trailer Snarls Traffic On Route 78 In Union Township
Multiple lanes were closed following a fuel spill and a jackknifed tractor trailer on Route 78 in Hunterdon County Friday, Jan. 19. It happened in the eastbound lanes, east of Exit 12 in Union Township by Perryville Rd., the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. Two left lanes of three lanes are closed, NJ DOT said. A tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized after his rig tipped coming off Route 80 with a load of bananas, responders said. The driver climbed out of his cab after the rig landed on its side at the Green Street exit off the westbound highway in Hackensack shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. A dislodged tractor-trailer wheel bounded off a Route 17 bridge and into a house below, authorities said. No one was injured, Rochelle Park Police Lt.
