After earning his degree from the College of St. Elizabeth, Gallagher became Chief of Police for the Township of Hanover, retiring in 2016 after 34 years serving the township, according to his obituary. Man Killed In Morris County Car Crash ID'ed: Police Police have identified the 65-year-old Morris Plains man who was killed after his car crashed into a tree on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 6. At 10 a.m., a vehicle, driven by John McTernan, traveling south on Littleton Road near Route 202 struck a tree in the area of Totten Way, Morris Plains police said. No other vehicles were involved, police said. McTernan was transported to Morristown Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

22-Year-Old Driver Killed In I-295 Crash A 22-year-old driver was killed in a crash on I-295 early Sunday, Oct. 8, police said. Cameron Boyle, of Morris Plains, was heading north in a Honda when he lost directional control and ran off the roadway to the right, hitting a tree and concrete bridge support, New Jersey State Police Detective I Jeffrey Lebron said. It happened at 3:44 a.m. on the northbound side, at milepost 63 in Hamilton Township, police said. Boyle died in the accident, which remains under investigation.
