Retired State Trooper Suffered Medical Episode Before Route 287 Crash: Family, Police The driver who died in a crash on Route 287 in Morris County this week has been identified as retired New Jersey State Trooper Kevin Hanrahan.  Hanrahan, 61, was heading north near milepost 31.4 in Harding Township around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, when he ran off the road to the left and struck a metal guardrail, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. New Jersey State Troopers from the Marine Services Bureau responded to the Route 36 bridge over the Shrewsbury River for the report of the whale around 9:25 a.m., police said.
