A 38-year-old driver was killed in a four-car crash in Hunterdon County Thursday evening, August 17, state police confirmed. Rachael Macdonald, of Washington, was heading southbound in a GMC Acadia when the vehicle entered the northbound lanes and struck the left rear of a Chevy Express near milepost 36.6 in Lebanon Township around 4:50 p.m., NJSP SFC Philip Curry told Daily Voice. Nearly 700 Hunterdon County JCP&L customers were without power Tuesday afternoon, March 14 as a winter storm swept through the area. Wind gusts of up to 50 mph were expected through Wednesday, March 15, according to the National Weather Service. Gusty winds across the region March 13-15.AccuWeather According to JCP&L, the majority of the outages were in Lebanon Township (227); 135 were in Califon; 148 were in Delaware; and various other towns had between 30 and 50 outages. Restoration time varied between 3 and 5 p.m.

Smoky Blaze Ravages Hunterdon County Home
Authorities are investigating the cause of a massive fire that ripped through a Hunterdon County home on Monday, Aug. 22. The Lebanon Township Fire Department responded to the blaze on Elk Ridge Road with several neighboring squads around 2:45 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found the home fully engulfed and immediately began working to douse the blaze, LTFD said. Two dogs were rescued from a Hunterdon County home that went up in flames over the weekend, authorities said. The Hampton Fire Co. Station 13 responded to a burning home in Lebanon Township and found two dogs trapped shortly before 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, the department said. Firefighters worked to clear the home of smoke while dousing the blaze, which was reported by a vigilant passerby, the department said. A 17-year-old male from Washington sustained minor injuries in a Lebanon rollover accident, authorities said. Police responded to Route 31 north of Rocky Run Road around 9:15 Wednesday night where the 2002 Chevy Malibu had overturned, NJ.com reports. The driver was taken to Hunterdon Medical Center by Lebanon Township Volunteer Fire Department EMS with minor injuries, Lebanon police said.
