These Nine NJ Schools Won Prestigious Blue Ribbon Award Nine New Jersey schools won the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award. The U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday, Sept. 19 recognized 353 schools across the country as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2023.  The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student groups on assessments.
