Man Nearly Scammed Out Of $45K: Blairstown PD
Quick-thinking police officers were able to prevent a man in Warren County from being scammed out of $45,000 earlier this month, authorities said. On Saturday, Feb. 3, a man came to Blairstown Police headquarters and said he had a pop-up virus on his computer with a phone number to contact Microsoft, police said on Facebook. When he called the number, the party advised him not to contact anyone or do anything with his computer and he was later told he had to withdraw $45,000 from his checking account, police said. Student Pilot Botches Landing At Blairstown Airport: Police
A small plane was damaged when a student pilot botched the landing at a New Jersey airport Monday morning, Nov. 20. The student was trying to land the single-engine Cessna 172N alongside the flight instructor at Blairstown Airport around 10:15 a.m., according to the FAA. However, the plane's wing struck the ground, and the aircraft slid off the runway several feet, Blairstown Police Chief Scott Johnsen said. Neither the student nor the pilot were injured. Pilot Survives Blairstown Crash Landing
A pilot was left with minor injuries after a glider plane crash landed into a Blairstown field Sunday, July 23, authorities said. Blairstown Police responded to the crash into a field near Vail Road around 2 p.m., Chief Scott Johnsen told Daily Voice. A motorcyclist was ejected and killed in a weekend crash with a Honda on Route 94 in Warren County, police confirmed. The crash occurred just before 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, Blairstown Police Chief Scott Johnsen told DailyVoice.com. A four-door Honda sedan was stopped at Vail Road and Rt. 94 and did not see the motorcyclist before attempting to make a left turn, Johnsen said. A man was airlifted with serious injuries after getting trapped underneath a box truck at a Warren County maintenance shop Thursday morning, according to initial and unconfirmed reports. The man became pinned under the truck at the Blair Academy maintenance shop on Park Street in Blairstown shortly after 10:40 a.m., initial reports say. The man was removed from underneath the truck, treated at the scene and airlifted to a local hospital with a severe leg injury, the report said. Authorities: 15-Year-Olds In Stolen Car Lead Route 80 Police Pursuit Through Multiple Towns
Three 15-year-olds were in a vehicle stolen out of Jersey City when they lead police on a pursuit through multiple towns last month. Officers had just stopped the speeding vehicle on Barkers Mill Road in Independence Township when the driver once again sped away in a Sept. 30 incident, township police said. ? Blairstown Police Seek Radar Speed Sign Thief
Blairstown police are seeking the public's help identifying the person who stole the department’s radar speed sign. The suspect was seen on surveillance tapes stealing the sign near Shotwell Road and Kishpaugh Road on Friday, July 24, authorities said in a release. The community is rallying for a Blairstown family that lost most of their belongings in a fire. Firefighters responded to the first alarm fire on Frontage Road around 4 a.m. Monday morning after a resident called 9-1-1, fire officials said.
