Monmouth University pollsters have tried to answer a question that has been hard to solve for many in the Garden State: Where is Central Jersey exactly? The Monmouth University Polling Institute released a survey on Tuesday, Apr. 16 that asked New Jerseyans what region they live in and if they believe their region gets a fair share of state resources. Multiple Police Agencies Respond To Large Fight In Toms River
Multiple police units were dispatched to the Days Hotel on Route 37 in Toms River for a large fight in a parking lot, authorities said. While responding on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 12:45 a.m., officers received further information regarding possible gunshots. Further investigation revealed evidence that shots were fired but no victims were struck. A former code enforcement officer who worked for three towns in Ocean County has been charged with official misconduct, authorities said. Michael Ruvo, 56, of Toms River, was charged on Wednesday, Sept. 20, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Among the offenses were instances of double-dipping in the towns he worked for, totaling more than 150 excess hours paid, the prosecutor said. A probe by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office found that the Lavallette Police Department did incomplete background checks on new hires and required officers to use their own cell phones on emergency calls. Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to a serious crash in Ocean County, authorities said. A 43-year-old drowning victim found lying on a Jersey Shore beach has been identified, authorities said. The body of Jennifer Jack of Lavallette was found unresponsive on the beach along the waterfront, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. First responders were called to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, authorities said. Firefighters, police and EMS crews were called to the 200 block of Grand Central Avenue in Lavallette about 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday. Possible Drowning Reported Along Jersey Shore
First responders were called to a report of possible drowning along the Jersey shore, authorities said. The water emergency was called about 4 p.m. off 100th Street in Long Beach, according to initial reports. An unconfirmed report said the elderly swimmer had been pulled from the water and that EMTs were trying to revive her. New Jersey authorities have been warning about rough seas all week. On Monday, a swimmer in his 60s drowned in Lavallette and five other swimmers were rescued in Seaside Park, authorities said.

Motorcyclist Killed In Crash ID'd As Former Wall Township EMT
Authorities have identified the 26-year-old motorcyclist who died in a Wall Township crash. Kenneth B. Sosnowski, of Lavallette, lost control of the bike while on the ramp from Route 138 east to Route 35 north, Tuesday night, Wall police said. Sosnowski crashed around 10 p.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. According to his LinkedIn page, Sosnowski was a squad member of Wall's first aid squad from 2014 to 2018. A small tornado touched down along the shore of Ocean County, the National Weather Service announced Thursday. The tornado, with winds of 70 mph, began as a waterspout in Barnegat Bay near Normandy Beach, briefly touched inland, and then returned out to sea, meteorologists said.
