Fugitive Arrested In Atlantic City Hotel Stabbing, More Suspects Wanted
A wanted man from Cumberland County was arrested and police were looking for more suspects after a man was stabbed at an Atlantic City hotel, authorities said.
Marquise Cottman, 20, of Millville, was charged with aggravated assault, Atlantic City police said in a news release on Thursday, Apr. 25.
Police responded to a stabbing at Showboat Hotel Atlantic City on the 800 block of the Boardwalk at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 24. An officer found a 25-year-old man from The Bronx, NY, heavily bleeding from a stab wound.

Coastal Flood Warning In Effect For Jersey Shore Due To Offshore Storm, Full Moon
Many parts of New Jersey are under a coastal flood warning with an offshore storm and a full moon expected to fuel high tides, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service issued the coastal flood warning in Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties at 6 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 25. The NWS said the warning would be in effect until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 26.
A storm out in the Atlantic Ocean will increase offshore wind speeds and make waves larger, according to the NWS. That will combine with Monday night's full moon to create "widespread tidal flooding."

Man Admits To Deadly Shooting In Crowded Atlantic City Hotel Lobby: Prosecutors
A Cumberland County man pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a man at an Atlantic City hotel, authorities said.
Leon Green, 33, of Millville, entered a plea on Friday, Mar. 8, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He was charged in the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Yusef Abdullah on Friday, June 1, 2018.
Investigators said Green entered the now-closed Fox Manor Hotel on Pacific Avenue and fired into the crowded lobby. Abdullah, who was not the intended target, was shot and died weeks later.

A Cumberland County jury has found a daycare worker not guilty in an abuse and neglect case, authorities said.
Claudia J. Smith-Heard, 51, of Millville, was accused of aggressive behavior to get a 4-year-old boy to take a nap on his first day of child care at Golden Gate center on Nov. 1, 2021, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Vineland police.
A jury found Smith-Heard not guilty on all counts on Wednesday, Feb. 21 after a trial, according to Crystal Harris, criminal division manager.
