Motorcyclist Killed In Route 1 Crash, 2nd Fatal In Same Day In South Brunswick
Two people were killed in separate crashes in South Brunswick including a motorist from South River and a motorcyclist from Pennsylvania, authorities said. At 5:56 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, officers were alerted to a single-car crash on Route 535. The preliminary investigation shows a Nissan Maxima, operated by a 65-year-old man from South River, left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Authorities have identified the three people killed in a fiery crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick earlier this month. Charisse Nelson-Bailey, 24, Daniel Vida, 28, and Maria Passalaris, 25, all died in the Friday, April 12 crash near Ridge Road, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Three students at a preschool in Mercer County were hit and grabbed aggressively by a childcare teacher, authorities said. In one of the incidents at the Malvern School on Route 33 in Robbinsville, the teacher's slap caused a nosebleed, according to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by Daily Voice. A longtime Home Depot employee from South Brunswick was killed when his sedan crashed into a trailer behind the Route 9 store where he'd worked. That's the lesson James Leonard, a 41-year-old South Brunswick man learned after he was arrested by police for passing multiple fake $100 bills at a nearby Wawa, officers said on Twitter on Sunday, Jan. 7. South Brunswick police advised motorists to avoid New Road near Route 1 for two hours after a dump truck overturned. At 6:45 a.m., Monday, Oct. 23, police responded to the single-vehicle crash on New Road near Woodlot Park. The dump truck landed on its side and had taken down a number of utility wires.
