Ridgefield Police Chase Shoeless Suspect On Foot RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A "barefoot" chase took place through the center of Ridgefield Friday afternoon, according to WLAD-AM.  Ridgefield police pursued a shoeless man in connection with an alleged attempted fraud with a counterfeit $20 bill at the Prospector Theater shortly after 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, WLAD-AM said.  One officer sustained abrasions during the chase, reported WLAD-AM. New York Child Rescued From Squantz Pond NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A 10-year-old boy from New York was rescued by lifeguards Sunday, July 10 at Squantz Pond State Park, according to The News-Times. Patrolling lifeguards saw the boy go under the surface and were able to pull him from the water, The News-Times said.  The boy was found conscious and alert and was evaluated by EMS, The News-Times reported.
