Police ID Motorcyclist, 50, Killed In Burke Crash
Police have identified the motorcyclist killed Wednesday night, April 24 in Fairfax County. Mohab Helmy, 50, of Burke, was heading west on Old Keene Mill Road in Burke on a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle when he struck a 2005 Toyota sedan making a left turn onto Old Keene Mill Road from a shopping center just after 10 p.m., county police said. Helmy was traveling westbound on Old Keene Mill Rd in the left through-lane. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota remained on scene and was uninjured. Spotsylvania Pedestrian Crash
A 51-year-old man was struck and killed Monday, April 8 in Spotsylvania, police said. James Corsa was crossing Patriot Highway in all-dark clothing when he was struck by a 2013 Dodge caravan heading south around 11:30 p.m., according to Major Troy Skebo of the county sheriff's office. The area that Corsta was struck in was not in a crosswalk area and was not very well lit. He was taken to Mary Washington Hospital where he died. Alexandria Motorcyclist, 23, Dies In Crash With

Police have identified the victim killed in an Alexandria motorcycle crash as a 23-year-old resident. Kaden Olsen, of Alexandria, was heading east on Duke Street when he was broadsided by a DASH bus making a left turn onto North Ripley Street around 5:05 p.m.Tuesday, April 9, Alexandria police said. The bus driver was the only person on the bus at the time of the accident. No other injuries were reported and the scene was cleared by 10:40 p.m. Olsen died at the scene and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

Drag Racing Driver Crashes During Pursuit Along I-395: State Police
A 19-year-old Maryland driver is facing multiple charges in connection with a pursuit and several crashes on I-395 in Virginia, police said. Kennedy W. Mejia Medina, of Silver Spring, was in a Toyota Camry that was trying to race another car along the highway around 12:15 a.m., when Virginia State Police attempted a motor vehicle stop near Edsall Road in Fairfax County, police said. A 48-year-old man was killed fleeing a minor crash when he crashed again Friday, March 29 on I-395 in Washington DC, authorities said. Ronald Jerome Jordan Jr. was heading north in a Chevy Malibu in the Third Street Tunnel when he rear-ended a Fort Transit Wagon and didn't stop, fleeing north in the tunnel around 5:30 p.m., DC police said. A minute later, the Malibu crossed lanes of traffic and began driving in the shoulder lane. A 71-year-old Spotsylvania man was struck and killed by a car last week in Culpeper, State Police said. The unidentified man was walking south along Rixeyville Road when he was struck by a 2015 GMC Denali also heading south, near Colvin Road around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, according to state police. One person was killed and a second hospitalized in Fairfax County following a two-vehicle crash, according to police. Officers were called to the scene of a collision shortly after 2 a.m. on Route 286 near Ox Road in Fairfax Station, where the crash was reported. According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the second was treated and evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries. A person changing a tire on their car was struck and killed by a truck on the Capital Beltway early Sunday, March 10 in Fairfax County, police said. The unidentified person was in the shoulder of the westbound lanes near Exit 176 when they were struck just before 3:40 a.m., Virginia State Police said. The pedestrian died at the scene. A former Metropolitan Police Department patrol officer who provided confidential information to attorneys for referral fees, federal officials say. Vincent Forrest, 35, was convicted this week for his role in a bribery scheme where he illegally provided private information from police documents in exchange for cash payments. Forrest and Raquel DePaula, 43, of Beltsville, were indicted by a grand jury in June 2021. A 75-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car in Loudoun County Monday, Oct. 23. Police say that a man driving a speeding moped was killed after losing control and crashing into a utility pole in Arlington. Solomon Zeleke, 44, was driving his moped at a high-rate of speed at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Friday night on 1900 Carendon Boulevard when he suffered fatal injuries in the crash, according to authorities.
