Police have identified the innocent driver killed by a wrong-way car thief during a police pursuit on I-695 earlier this week. Dimeka Thornton, 37, of Windsor Mill, was operating an Acura TSX when she was struck by a driver in a stolen car in the outer loop, on the ramp to Exit 18 to Liberty Road around 12:15 a.m. Monday, April 8, the Maryland Attorney General's Office said in a release. A Virginia man is in custody after police say he stabbed his ex-girlfriend dead during an argument at her Maryland home on Tuesday morning, April 9. Kevin Derr, 50, of Alexandria, was charged with first- and second- degree murder and other offenses, in the death of Wendolyn McKoy, 47, Prince George's County police said. The two had been arguing at her home on the 5600 block of Lanteen Street in Lanham, bringing officers to the scene at around 11 a.m., the department said. Two Entrapped, Five Hospitalized In Fairfax County Fire
Five people were hospitalized in a Fairfax County fire on Wednesday morning, April 10, responders said. The blaze broke out on the 13900 block of Whetstone Manor Court in Clifton around 10:15 a.m., the county fire department said. Two people were trapped inside the home where heavy flames were reported. Two occupants were removed from the home and seriously injured. Three others were hospitalized, too, police said.

A teacher from Virginia was found with child porn amid an investigation into a possible sexual relationship with a child, police said. William Riddell, 40, of Chantilly, was arrested in Kansas on March 30, the Fairfax County Police Department said.
