The death of a facilities director popular among both staff and students of a Montgomery County school has died unexpectedly, prompting an outpouring of support. Richard J. Borowiec, affectionately known simply as "Mr. Rich," died on April 7, 2024. He was two days shy of celebrating his 47th birthday, his obituary shows. Rich had been employed as the facilities director of the St. Genevieve School and Parish in Flourtown for the last 22 years. All of New Jersey and Greater Philadelphia are under a flood watch ahead of one big rain storm, or a combination of two different storms that will combine and head to the region this weekend. A predator from Louisiana who drove 2,700 miles roundtrip for sex with an underage Jersey Shore girl was captured when he flew back for more, federal authorities said. Spencer William-Wayne Caudle, 34, began grooming the 14-year-old victim through the Whisper app in April, a complaint on file in U.S. District Court in Trenton alleges. A previous sex offender from the Jersey Shore is headed to federal prison for 15 years for an online sexual relationship he had with a 13-year-old girl in Canada. David M. Frew, a 42-year-old registered sex offender from Little Egg Harbor, had served time for sending pornographic images to state investigators posing as minors in Pennsylvania in 2008. A 15-year-old girl from Pennsylvania was bitten by a shark while surfing off the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The shark bite occurred off Stone Harbor's 109th Street Beach, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, Stone Harbor officials said. The body of a drowned swimmer was found off the Jersey Shore in Belmar after several others were rescued, authorities said. A police sergeant on the Jersey Shore has been arrested after leaving a Beretta handgun with children, authorities said. Andrew Wahlberg, 50, of the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township, left the 9mm gun unsecured and accessible to juveniles on May 18, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Stafford Township Police Chief Thomas Dellane said. No other details were released about the incident.
