Investigators are searching for the gunman who stole a vehicle in Southwest Philadelphia early Monday, April 8, city police say. The suspect had a black handgun when he carjacked a victim on the 7200 block of Woodland Avenue around 2:25 a.m., authorities said in a release. The car is a gray 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Pennsylvania tag number MKZ-7506, police said. The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall black man in his early 20s, nicknamed "Skinny," according to detectives. Three-year-old Kayden Barnes has died after shooting herself in the face this weekend, police in Philadelphia said. The incident happened on the 500 block of East Chelten Avenue in the city's 14th District around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, April 6, according to police. She was transported by private vehicle to Albert Einstein Medical Center and was airlifted to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Police told Daily Voice she died from her injuries on Monday, April 8. A weapon was recovered, and a male was taken into custody for questioning.

A Morrisville man will spend up to 14 years in state prison in connection with a fentanyl death, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said Thursday. Joeshae Bussey, 43, previously pleaded guilty to drug delivery resulting in death, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and involuntary manslaughter, according to prosecutors. Authorities in Marple Township arrested an armed man at the 400 S. State Road Walmart this week, police said in a release. Officers were called about a person with a gun around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, police said. Authorities in Warminster Township are looking for a missing New Jersey woman. Ember Hext of Bound Brook was reported missing on Feb. 16, police said in a release. US Marshals have arrested a man accused of fleeing police in Bensalem. Elovens Joseph was wanted for aggravated assault and related counts after authorities said he crashed into two police vehicles on the 3600 block of Street Road on Feb. 28. Police activity that closed Route 42 in Bellmawr for hours has come to an end. For seven hours, the man stood on the ledge of the I-295 overpass, closing Route 42 below in both directions on Thursday afternoon, April 4 near Exit 14. "We were able to get the individual some help," said New Jersey State Trooper, who declined to provide further details.
