Man Shot Dead Near Philadelphia's La Salle University, Police Say A 40-year-old was shot and killed just blocks from La Salle University in North Philadelphia on Wednesday night, April 3, authorities told Daily Voice.  Shots rang out on the 1700 block of West Olney Avenue around 8:45 p.m., PPD said. Officers responded to find the victim with a single gunshot wound to the "lower right stomach." He was taken to Einstein Hospital and pronounced dead just after 9 p.m., according to police.  No arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered as of Thursday morning, April 4, authorities said.
