US Rt 30 Reopens After HazMat Called To Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer In Lancaster (Update) A jackknifed tractor-trailer caused major delays on US Route 30 on Friday afternoon. The tractor-trailer leaked fuel onto US Rt. 30 East by Exit: PA 462 - Lincoln Highway, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications.  The jackknifing happened around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, dispatchers explained. No injuries were reported, but a HazMat crew remains on the scene for "spill control," dispatchers said. Company 63 from the  Lafayette Fire Company assisted Lancaster County HazMat with the cleanup. The fuel came from the tractor-trailer's saddle tanks, the company explained. …

Motorcyclist Killed In Wreck During Chester County Police Chase: Troopers A motorcycle rider crashed and succumbed to his injuries while fleeing state police near Downingtown on Friday, Oct. 27, according to authorities.  Police were chasing the motorcyclist east on US Route 30 through East Caln Township just before the wreck around 1:40 a.m., troopers said.  The motorcyclist exited the highway "at a high rate of speed" onto Route 113, but lost control and hit a metal guide rail on the road's north side, said authorities. The 31-year-old motorcyclist's name was not reported by troopers.  State police are continuing to investigate the crash.

All Lanes Closed As Box Truck Spills Load On US 30 In Central PA A multi-vehicle crash involving a box car has closed all eastbound lanes of US Route 30 on Monday, July 11, according to the Pennsylvania department of transportation. The crash happened by the exit for Exit: PA 741 - MILLERSVILLE/ROHRERSTOWN in East Hempfield Township at 10:46 a.m., authorities say. The box truck involved was supposedly hit in the side and split open, spilled its unknown contents unto the roadway, dispatchers say. The multi-vehicle crash occurred in Mountville, Lancaster County between the Columbia/Marietta exit and the Prospect Road exit around 9 a.m., according to PennDOT.
