Former Westtown-East Goshen Police Officer, Firefighter Dies At 73
David MacIntyre, a Lancaster resident and former officer with the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, died on Saturday, May 6, his old department announced. He was 73. A graduate of B. Reed Henderson High School in West Chester, MacIntyre spent seven years with the Westtown-East Goshen department, his loved ones wrote in his obituary. Police said MacIntyre was among the first part-time officers to serve the region after the department was formed in 1981. Man Strips Naked, Jumps In Freezer Full Of Ice At Gas Station In Ephrata
A 35-year-old man caused 12 hours of mayhem in Ephrata starting when he stripped naked at a gas station and jumped into a freezer with bagged ice, area police stated in a release on Friday, Oct. 14. Jonathan Martin Beck, of East Earl, "removed all of his clothing while at a gas pump, exposing his genitals to customers. Beck then removed several ice bags from the bagged ice freezer and jumped inside of the freezer causing numerous bags of ice to be disposed of," the Ephrata police say. A Central Pennsylvania man who police say was publicly intoxicated was charged twice in less than eight hours. Jonathan M. Beck, of East Earl, was found walking through traffic on Main Street in East Earl Township when officers arrived for a well-being check around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, local police said. Cops learned he was under the influence of a controlled substance, they said. Beck was issued a citation for public drunkenness. A 53-year-old driver is facing several charges after driving recklessly through a busy Pennsylvania shopping center in an attempt to attract the attention of police, authorities said. A 22-year-old was stopped for speeding on Tuesday night and was found with methamphetamine and gave police a fake ID.
