Mennonite Toddler ID'd After Fatal Train Strike In Central PA
A 15-months and 14-days-old boy has been identified after being struck by a Norfolk Southen Train on Thursday. Landis Sensenig Newswanger was hit by a Norfolk Southern train running along the tracks in his backyard in the 400 block of West Main Street, South Newton Township, Cumberland County at 10:04 a.m. on Dec. 7, according to state police and later identified in his obituary. Landis was taken to Carlisle Hospital where they were pronounced dead, Cumberland County Coroner Charles Hall told Daily Voice. His autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12, Hall said. …

Norfolk Southern Train Hits Car In Hershey: Authorities
A car was struck by a Norfolk Southern train in Hershey on Wednesday morning, authorities say. The collision happened on East Derry Road just after 3:30 a.m. on July 19, 2023. At 7:21 a.m., Derry Township police announced that the road will remain closed for about three to four hours, and the public should find alternative routes. No injuries were reported, according to Dauphin County emergency dispatch. Daily Voice has reached out to Norfolk Southern for comment and has yet to hear back as of 10:45 a.m.

A 29-year-old man has died in what authorities call a "train/pedestrian incident," on Oct. 25. William T. Taylor Jr., was "lying within the gauge of the Radebaugh Subdivision Track near Mile Post: R13" when a Carload Express, Inc. train was traveling south in East Huntingdon Township at at 10:54 p.m., according to a release by Westmoreland County Coroner, Timothy Carson. Person Struck By SEPTA Train In Philadelphia: Officials
A person was struck by a SEPTA train in Philadelphia, officials said. The unidentified victim was in the southbound tracks at the Oregon station when they were hit around 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, according to a SEPTA spokesperson. "The person who was in the tracks is alive, was conscious, and is now being treated at Jefferson Hospital," the spokesperson said. One person has died after they were hit by a train in central Pennsylvania, according to emergency dispatchers. Emergency crews were called to a crash involving an Amtrak main line train near Dillerville Road in Lancaster around 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, a Lancaster County Wide Communications supervisor says. A driver was hurt after crashing into a train car in the Lehigh Valley area early Friday, authorities said. The driver was heading north on South Delaware Drive in Lower Mount Bethel Township and struck the side of the last car of a train that was crossing near the 5700 block around 2:15 a.m., the local fire company said. The identity of a woman struck by a train on Sunday has been released by police. Tonya Price, 61, of Lebanon, was hit by a train on 7th Street on Mar. 13, according to City police. She was struck while attempting, "to cross the tracks in front of the approaching train traveling westbound," shortly after 12:30 p.m., police say. Seven years ago a teenager was also struck dead by a Norfolk Southern train on 7th Street on Mar. 13, according to police at the time. A coroner has been called to a deadly crash involving a train on Monday afternoon, emergency dispatchers say. A Norfolk Southern train allegedly stuck a person dead at Market and Water streets shortly after 2 p.m. on Feb. 28, according to dispatchers.
