York County Man, 55, Dies In Vehicle Fire: Police
Authorities are investigating a deadly vehicle fire in Manchester Township. Northern York Regional police were called to the 2400 block of Pin Oak Drive around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 23. They arrived to find a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan fully engulfed in flames. York Area United Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire and 55-year-old Thomas Rooney was found dead in the van, police said. No one else was injured. Authorities have named the suspected shooter at Delaware County Linens as 61-year-old Wilbert Rosado Ruiz. Ruiz is accused of killing brothers 29-year-old Leovanny Pena Pena and 26-year-old Giguenson Pena Pena, and sending three others to the hospital early Wednesday, May 22, officials tell Daily Voice. Police responding to reports of a reckless driver who'd crashed in Carlisle found a teenager behind the wheel and a drunken family member in the passenger's seat, authorities said. Officers were called to N. College Street and B Street around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, May 19 where a white pickup truck had driven around the round-about and crashed into a ditch, police said in a release. "Please help" was the message that police got from a victim in Cumberland County last week, they said. And, they did. New Cumberland police officers worked swiftly to track down the source of the message on May 15, before walking in on Braden King, 60, trying to pull the woman's clothes off without her consent, they said. LanCo Driver Was More Than 2X Legal Limit In Crash That Sent Passenger Into Surgery: Cops
A Lancaster County man was more than twice the legal limit in a crash that sent his passenger into emergency surgery earlier this month, police said. James Giuca, 37, of Denver, had a blood alcohol level of .184% when he lost control negotiating a curve on East Swartzville Road on May 13 around 2:25 a.m., East Cocalico Township police said. Giuca's vehicle struck a tree, requiring his passenger be extricated from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Giuca was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, DUI, and issued a summary traffic violation.

Convicted Rapist Gives Fake Camp Hill Address To Comply With Meghan's Law, Police Say
A 56-year-old convicted rapist from Pennsylvania is facing charges for reporting a fake address in order to comply with Meghan's Law, authorities said. David Pressler, a lifetime offender who was convicted of rape in May 1996, failed to provide a valid address to Pennsylvania State Police's Megan's Law Section, Camp Hill police said. Police were called to investigate the change of address on the 1800 block of Market Street on May 13, according to police. Pressler was subsequently charged with failure to provide accurate registration information.

Twenty-three animals living in “severe neglect” were removed from a Coaldale home on Monday, May 20, state police said in a release. Charges are pending against the 69-year-old homeowner, according to troopers.
