PA Mayor's Death Leaves 'Legacy Of Selfless Service': Officials
The current Coplay Borough Mayor Burker passed away over the weekend, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office announced in a release on Monday, Oct. 21. The Honorable Stephen J. Burker was pronounced dead from natural causes in his home on Saturday, Oct. 19, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio detailed in the release. Lehigh Valley native and Northampton Community College student Thomas R. “Tommy” Stackhouse died at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on Thursday, May 26 following a long and valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was 18. Born in Phillipsburg, Tommy grew up in Bangor, where he managed the varsity football team and intramural bowling league before graduating in 2021 as homecoming king, his obituary says. Lehigh Driver Charged After Pushing Woman's Car With 2 Kids Into I-78 Median
A 31-year-old Lehigh driver is facing aggravated assault charges after state police say he was yelling at drivers and even hit one woman's car, sending it into a concrete median on I-78 earlier this month, authorities said.
