Philadelphia Worker ID'd As Victim Killed In Sea Isle City Balcony Collapse
A 43-year-old construction worker from Philadelphia has been identified as the victim crushed to death by a balcony that collapsed at a Sea Isle City high-rise Friday, Feb. 24, authorities said. Jose Pereira was on the 7th floor balcony of the Spinnaker South Tower when the balcony above him collapsed, crushing him around 2:20 p.m., Sea Isle City Police Chief Anthony J. Garreffi Jr. said. YWCA Explodes In Western PA: Reports
A YWCA in western Pennsylvania has apparently exploded on Tuesday, August 2, according to media outlets. The explosion happened in the 400 block of 9th Street, McKeesport around 8 a.m., according to WTAE. The building was known as the Common Ground Building and it was under construction at the time of the explosion, KDKA reports. Specifically, crews were working on a handicap ramp when they hit a gas line, police told WPXI. Two People Rescued From Ditch In Lower Merion: Sources
Rescue crews were on the scene of a recovery effort in Montgomery County Wednesday, Feb. 23, after two people became trapped in a ditch, sources confirmed. The incident began around 11:35 a.m.. on the 1200 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in Lower Merion Township, where the two male victims were buried up to the waist, Montgomery County Public Affairs Coordinator Todd Stieritz said. Students witnessed a contract worker falling over 30 feet from an area just below the roof of their high school, authorities and multiple news outlets reported on Tuesday. The worker fell approximately 30 to 40 feet from the area between the ceiling and roof into the auditorium of Valley High School in the New Kensington-Arnold School District just after 10:30 a.m., according to emergency dispatchers and officials called to the scene. Worcester Twp. Construction Worker Airlifted After Falling Through Floor Of Unfinished Home
A Worcester Township construction worker was airlifted to the hospital after falling through the floor of an unfinished home Monday afternoon, authorities said. Fire crews were dispatched to the Reserve at Center Square, a luxury townhome construction site, around 3:45 p.m., according to Worcester Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find EMS treating the man in the basement, authorities said.
