Missing Carmel 28-Year-Old Found Safe New Update: A 28-year-old Hudson Valley man who went missing after last being seen boarding a train in Northern Westchester has been found safe.  In an announcement on Tuesday night, Aug. 20, the Carmel Police Department in Putnam County said that Bekim Gjonbalaj, age 28, was found in good health after last being seen boarding a train at the Croton Falls Train Station in the town of North Salem on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 4:50 a.m. More information about where Gjonbalaj was found was not released. Car Crashes Over Guardrail, Causing Carmel Road Closure A busy Hudson Valley road was closed for around an hour after a vehicle crashed over the guardrail into the woods. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Aug. 18 around 3:30 p.m., when a car crashed over a guardrail on Route 32 (Crane Road) in the area of Angela Drive in the town of Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.  No injuries were reported and both the driver and passenger refused ambulance trips.  Route 32 was closed for about an hour as the vehicle was towed away.

Building Collapses At Yacht Yard In Mamaroneck Authorities rushed to a yacht yard in Westchester after a building collapsed into the water, authorities said. The incident happened in Mamaroneck on Saturday, Aug. 17 around 3 p.m., when a shed building at Nichols Yacht Yard at 500 Rushmore Ave. collapsed, according to the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department.  According to police, the wood supporting the structure was rotted out.  Soon after the collapse, police, firefighters, building department officials, and Con Edison responded to the scene and cut electricity.  No injuries were reported.

Dozens Of Mopeds, Scooters Impounded In Crackdown On Illegal Operation In Westchester Moped and scooter riders in Westchester, watch out—the county's police departments are cracking down on those who operate the vehicles where they are not supposed to.
