A 22-year-old man was shot in the chest and buttocks in Dutchess County over the weekend, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
The shooting happened in Poughkeepsie just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, in the area of Montgomery Street and South Hamilton Street, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
At that time, authorities received multiple reports of shots fired, and responding officers found the 22-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and buttocks, police said.

A 15-year-old suspect is in custody after a violent Westchester County shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead and four teenagers seriously wounded.
The shooting happened in Yonkers at around 8:43 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, in the area of Elm Street and Palisade Avenue, according to the Yonkers Police Department.
