Jumper Takes Fatal Leap From High-Rise Across From

A man leapt to his death from the balcony of a building in Newark Tuesday, Sept. 5, officials said. Police responding to the intersection of Center Street and Park Place on a call of a sick or injured person found the unresponsive man around 5:25 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. He had jumped from a building’s balcony across from New Jersey Performing Arts Center and pronounced dead at 5:48 p.m. The incident remains under investigation. No further information is available.

Street Closures In Newark Sunday For Film Production
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announces that a number of streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday due to a film production.
