Two Newark men were recently convicted for their roles in which one man was killed when a group of people were shot at in May 2019, authorities said. Tymeer Gumbs, 25, and Isaiah Kane, 25, were in a stolen Dodge Durango when they pulled up to a group of men and started shooting at them at Maple and Chancellor Avenue in Newark, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, Cheryl Mulgrew called police seeking a psychiatric evaluation for her 34-year-old son, Michael Mulgrew, who had been experiencing a mental health problem, police documents say. But Michael Mulgrew came home later that night seeming calm, and so Cheryl, 69, told police not to bother, and she'd take him to the doctors in the morning, the affidavit says. Michael Rogers, 25, was captured by US Marshals following the shooting death of 32-year-old Antwoine Thompson. Arminda Grangela Rodrigues da Silva Ribeiro, a Newark mother, has been identified as the victim of a 1973 San Diego killing, according to the SD Crime Stoppers.
