16-Year-Old Arrested For Stabbing 18-Year-Old In Jersey City: Prosecutors
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 20 and charged with stabbing an 18-year-old in Jersey City last week, prosecutors said. On Friday, Dec. 15 at 8:55 p.m., Jersey City Police responded to a stabbing at Duncan Avenue and Wilmont Street, where they found Naseer Munroe, with a stab wound to the torso, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Munroe was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead after 10 p.m., Suarez said. It has been seven years since Shamar Coleman was fatally gunned down in Plainfield and police are still attempting to solve his murder. On Dec. 29, 2016, Plainfield police responded to Seafood Rama and found Coleman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Union County Prosecutor William A. Newark Man Convicted Of Fatally Stabbing, Strangling Girlfriend: Prosecutors
Nasean Torres, a 49-year-old Newark man was convicted of murder on Thursday, Dec. 14 for fatally stabbing and strangling his longtime girlfriend in July 22, authorities said. On July 22, police responded to 47 Palm St. in Newark and found Elizabeth Kelley, 55, lying in the basement floor of her home, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said.
