North Jersey Man Who Sexually Assaulted, Robbed Woman, 33, Surrenders: Prosecutor
A North Jersey man accused of sexually assaulting and robbing a 33-year-old woman surrendered to authorities in Hudson County on Wednesday, authorities said.
Michael Vivar, 23, of North Bergen, was arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault, robbery, and witness tampering, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
The woman told North Bergen police on Nov. 3, 2021, that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man she had met earlier in the day, authorities said. He also apparently stole money from her wallet.

Jersey City Burglar Found Sleeping On Hoboken Stairwell, Police Say
A 53-year-old Jersey City man was arrested for burglarizing Hoboken businesses, authorities said.
Richard Maldonado was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, defiant trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia, Hoboken Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said.
The first call came in around 2:10 p.m. June 11 at a business near 2nd and Monroe Street, police said. Business owners told police that a man came in around 1:20 a.m., and left and entered more than once, taking items from the business, authorities said.

An Essex County corrections officer was arrested on accusations he tried smuggling drugs, tobacco, a cell phone and charger to an inmate, authorities said Friday.
Members of the Criminal Intelligence Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau at the Essex County Correctional Facility on Thursday learned that Alray Blackmon, Jr., 31, of Newark, had been smuggling contraband to an inmate at the Doremus Avenue facility, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
