Home Catches Fire In Bayonne (Developing) Firefighters were on scene of a structure fire in Bayonne on the morning of Tuesday morning, July 9, the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management said. The fire is at West 44th Street and Avenue B, the Bayonne OEM said. Video provided by the OEM shows smoke billowing from the window. People are asked to avoid the area, the OEM said. Wrong-Way Jersey City Dirt Bike Rider Drags Officer During 3rd Bayonne Pursuit, Authorities Say A 27-year-old dirt bike rider dragged an officer attempting to stop him after leading several pursuits down local Bayonne streets -- some against the flow of traffic, authorities said. Officers saw a mini dirt bike without a license plate, functional turn signals, functional brake, functional headlight heading northbound on Avenue C near 7th Street around 2:30 p.m. Friday, Bayonne Police Capt. Jersey City Man, 49, Charged In Violent Robbery Of Elderly Bayonne Woman A 49-year-old Jersey City man has been charged in the violent robbery of a 73-year-old Bayonne woman, authorities said Wednesday. Bayonne police detectives spotted a man riding a bicycle, who matched the victim's description on 41st Street and Kennedy Boulevard Dec. 1, Police Capt. Eric Amato said. Rodney M. Neal -- on a bike that also matched the description -- was charged with robbery and possession of narcotic paraphernalia, police said.
