Road Rage: NY Driver Charged In Shooting On Route 78, Prosecutor Says
A pickup truck driver from New York has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses following a road-rage shooting on Route 78 in Hunterdon County earlier this month, authorities said.
Collen M. Brown, 25, of Jamaica, NY, was driving a pickup truck eastbound alongside a tractor-trailer when he fired a 9 mm handgun at its engine compartment around 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said.

Two men were stabbed and another cut during a fight in Clifton with a Lodi man who was later caught trying to flee the country, police said.
Mirsad Kolasinac, 51, was captured by federal agents at JFK Airport in Queens, Police Lt. Robert Anderson said. He remained held on Monday, Dec. 18, in the Bergen County Jail.

Two men from East Orange have been sentenced for their role in an August 2022 shooting at Menga Lounge in Linden, authorities said.
Najir Paige, 29, and Sharif Evans, 26, were sentenced on Friday, Dec. 8 for the shooting, which left three people injured, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Linden Police Chief David Hart said.
On Aug. 6, 2022, following a dispute at the bar, Paige retrieved a handgun from Evans' vehicle and fired numerous rounds into the establishment through the front door, authorities said.

Murder: Charges Upgraded After Man Beaten During Union City Robbery Dies, Police Say
Charges have been upgraded for a 23-year-old man after the man who he struck over the head during a robbery last week died, authorities in Hudson County said.
At 3 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, Union City police found Jorge Mocetzuma Espinoza unresponsive, and rushed him to Jersey City Medical Center with upper body injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Two Verona police officers were injured after a man in distress assaulted them with a screwdriver on Wednesday, Nov. 22, authorities said.
Police initially responded to a home on Linn Drive and told the man, who was not named, he should seek assistance at a hospital, police said. The man became combative and began assaulting officers, police said.
