Washington Irving High Graduate Mary Pat (Deely) McGuire, 80
Mary Patricia (Deely) McGuire, age 80, of Bridgewater, MA died on Friday, March 5 after a brief illness. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Thomas H. and Rosalie T. Deely. Mary Pat was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in Tarrytown and the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale. Mary Pat was married to the predeceased J. Francis McGuire in 1962 and they settled in Avon, where they raised their three children. Man Charged In Hit-Run Crash With NY State Police Cruiser
The driver of a tractor-trailer that struck and damaged a New York State Police cruiser on Interstate 84 before fleeing the scene has been apprehended, authorities said. At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, a state trooper on patrol from the East Fishkill barracks was monitoring traffic on a stretch of the roadway in Putnam County in the Town of Kent when the tractor-trailer struck the cruiser and fled the scene. Man Caught With 12 Pounds Of Pot After Stop For Unsafe Lane Change On Hutch, Police Say
An unsafe lane change on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester led to the seizure of a dozen pounds of marijuana from a driver in Harrison. Randolph, Mass. resident Tan Van Nguyen, 55, was driving northbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway near North Street in Harrison on Wednesday, Aug. 15, when he was suddenly veered from the left lane into the right lane, forcing a second motorist to slam on the brakes to avoid crashing.
