Award-Winning Historian Robert Massie, Longtime Irvington Resident, Dies
An award-winning historian who called the Hudson Valley home for much of his life, died in his Westchester home.
Robert K. Massie, an author and historian of Europe and pre-Revolutionary Russia, died in Irvington on Monday, Dec. 2. Massie, who was 90 years old, had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease at the time of his death.

Wall Street Asset Manager Leaving NYC, Moving Over 1K Jobs Out Of State
A prominent Wall Street money manager is trading Broadway shows for country music.
Asset manager AllianceBernstein is leaving to New York and heading to Nashville, according to multiple reports, taking its corporate headquarters, and an estimated 1,050 jobs, starting later this year.
In a filing on Wednesday, AllianceBernstein said that it chose Music City following “a months-long search that evaluated cities on attributes including housing, cost of living, education and weather.”
Some of the company’s divisions will stay in New York, such as portfolio managers and private wealth managers.…
