Timm, Retired Tarrytown Crane Operator, Dies at 92

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Caesar J. "Dutch" Timm, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died Dec. 25. He was 92.

Born Feb. 1, 1919 in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Julius C. and Sophie Timm. During World War II, Timm served in the U.S. Navy in Asia and the Philippines. He served on several vessels, including the U.S.S. Pasadena.

On March 10, 1946, Timm married Susan P. Vaccaro in Immaculate Conception Church. He had a long career with Lord and Burnham in Irvington as a crane operator. During his retirement, Timm belonged to the Tarrytown Seniors and enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by his daughters Dolores Apollonio of Tarrytown and Diane (David) Boutross of Yorktown Heights, his sons Michael (Alean) Timm of Stamford, Conn. and Robert (Susan) Timm of Croton, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Susan six days earlier, on Dec. 19.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery with Navy Honors.
