Three Nabbed On Long Island With Loaded Firearm During Traffic Stop
Three people were charged on Long Island for alleged criminal possession of a weapon following a traffic stop.
The arrests took place in Baldwin around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, on Cheshire Drive.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers spotted a 2007 Nissan Altima with a defective headlamp on Cheshire Drive, and conducted a traffic stop.
During the stop, a loaded semi-automatic pistol was located inside the vehicle. Numerous credit cards, debit cards, and scanning devices were also recovered from inside, Nassau County Police said.

A Long Island man is facing drug and weapon charges after officers witnessed him engage in a hand-to-hand drug transaction, police said.
Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Anti-Crime officers were conducting surveillance of a known narcotics dealer, Donald Goodwin, age 31, when they witnessed him conduct a drug transaction in Centereach and then leave the location in a 2014 Infiniti.

Man Nabbed With Stolen Loaded Handgun, Pot, During LI Traffic Stop, Police Say
A Long Island man has been arrested for alleged possession of a stolen loaded handgun and marijuana.
Suffolk County resident Vernon Thornton, age 32, of Wyandanch, was arrested in Merrick around 8:20 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, after detectives working a special detail aimed against opioids sale and use, after he was pulled over for traffic violations, said the Nassau County Police.
