Head-On DWI Crash: Woman Nabbed Following Long Island Incident
A Brooklyn woman has been arrested after she allegedly crashed head-on into a Long Island driver, leaving them with serious injuries, police said.
It happened on Sunday, Sept. 24. in Valley Stream.
Keyana Mccray, age 33, of Brooklyn, was driving west on Merrick Road in a 2020 BMW, Nassau County Police said.
At approximately 4 a.m. near the intersection of Rockaway Avenue, Mccray collided head-on with a 2020 Chevrolet.
The driver of Chevrolet, a 51-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her serious internal injuries.

A Long Island man pleaded guilty to driving drunk, hitting, and killing a 24-year-old woman while she was crossing the street, authorities said.
On Monday, Aug. 28, Tyshaun Johashen, a 32-year-old Freeport man, entered his guilty plea in relation to the March 2023 crash, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
Mia Pollidore, age 24 of Freeport, was walking west across Babylon Turnpike near the Carroll Street intersection on Wednesday, March 1 when, at approximately 7:02 p.m., she was hit by Johashen.

The man responsible for a triple-fatal crash on Long Island has been identified and faces multiple charges, police announced.
On Friday, Aug. 11, Nassau County Police announced that Michael Deangelo, age 32, was arrested in connection to a Massapequa car crash that killed three members of the same family.
Deangelo, who is from Lindenhurst, was reportedly driving under the influence of cocaine and fentanyl on Sunday, Aug. 6 on Sunrise Highway when he hit three other cars at approximately 7:20 p.m.
One second prior to the impact, he was traveling 120.55 miles per hour.

Man Charged With DWI, Manslaughter In Deadly Long Island Crash
A 32-year-old man has been charged with alleged DWI and vehicular manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash on Long Island.
The crash took place in Nassau County around 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 1 in Freeport.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, Tyshaun Johashen, age 32, homeless, was driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra southbound on Babylon Turnpike in the vicinity of Carroll Street when he struck a 24-year-old woman.

New Poll Reveals How NY Voters Think Gov. Hochul Is Doing Months Into First Full Term
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s approval rating dipped slightly in the second month of her first full term in office, according to a brand-new poll.
Among the state’s registered voters, Hochul holds an approval rating of 56 to 40 percent, compared to 56 to 36 percent in January, according to a Siena College poll released Monday, Feb. 27.
Hochul’s favorability also dipped slightly to 46 to 43 percent, from 48 to 42 percent in January, the poll found.

Woman Sideswipes Ambulance On Long Island, Flees Scene, Police Say
A 33-year-old woman has been charged with DWI after allegedly sideswiping a police ambulance and then leaving the scene.
The incident took place in Elmont around 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12 on Elmont Road.
Zeena Loor, age 33, of Queens, was driving a 2020 BMW X3, sideswiped the driver's side of a Nassau County Police ambulance causing damage to the vehicle, said the Nassau County Police.
Loor then left the scene. Nassau County police located her on Elmont Road and pulled her over, police said.

A local man has been accused of driving drunk with an infant in the vehicle after a crash near a busy Long Island intersection.
The crash happened in Riverhead at about 6:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and involved a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a gray Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Main Road near the intersection of Route 105, Riverhead Police said.

Man Killed In DWI Long Island Crash Identified
Police have identified a man who was killed in a suspected DWI crash on Long Island.
Scott Freeman, age 66, of North Baldwin, died as a result of the crash that occurred early Tuesday, May 3, in Baldwin at the intersection of Grand Avenue and East Carl Avenue, Nassau County Police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Police Medic.
The other driver, 31-year-old Jinaraya Khan, of Baldwin, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
