Suspect Who Allegedly Forced Entry By Throwing Objects Nabbed For Suffolk County Burglary Spree
A suspect has been apprehended in connection to a spree of burglaries of Long Island businesses.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Squad detectives, Joseph Foresto, age 67, was charged with six commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Saturday, May 18, and Saturday, June 22.
During the burglaries, Foresto, a Lake Grove resident, forced entry by throwing objects through a glass door or window to enter the closed businesses.

Burglary Spree: Teen Trio Nabbed For Long Island Incidents, Police Say
A group of teen boys was arrested after police said they stole from the same Long Island business multiple times.
The Merrick incident occurred on Sunday, June 16.
Just after 10:30 p.m. that day, Nassau County Police responded to Merrick Bicycles, located at 1829 Merrick Avenue, for a reported burglary.
When they arrived, authorities reportedly found and arrested three teens — ages 13, 14, and 17 — at the scene.
The 13- and 17-year-old were allegedly discovered to be behind two additional burglaries, also at Merrick Bicycles, on May 24 and June 8.

Duo Nabbed For String Of Suffolk County ATM Burglaries
Two men have been accused of burglarizing multiple businesses and stealing ATMs on Long Island.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives, the two were arrested and charged with a series of commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Tuesday, March 5, and Monday, March 11.
During the burglaries, police say, John Mahoney, 41, of Mastic, and Jamie Volini, age 46, of East Patchogue, forced entry through broken doors and windows into closed gas stations and businesses and damaged or stole the ATMs.

A Long Island man was arrested after police say he broke into a couple’s apartment, punching one victim and causing property damage.
It happened on Monday, April 15 in Island Park, according to Nassau County Police.

A young man from New Jersey was arrested after he was discovered to be part of a group that has committed a string of burglaries across Long Island, police announced.
Fazon Farrington, age 19 of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested following an investigation that stemmed from a Lake Success incident, Nassau County Police said on Thursday, March 14.
On Saturday, Jan. 13, a group of three men, also from New Jersey, were reportedly fleeing from the scene of a home they attempted to burgle — but were stopped when they crashed into the officers driving towards the scene.

Two men accused in nearly a dozen commercial burglaries on Long Island tried distracting police by setting fires at electrical substations, prosecutors allege.
Frank Costa, age 54, of Port Jefferson Station, and Jon Pucci, age 29, of Middle Island, were arraigned on arson and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Feb. 27
According to prosecutors, the men broke into nine Suffolk County businesses – including six convenience stores, a laundry mat, and a deli – between December 2023 and February 2024.

41-Year-Old Sentenced 20 To Life For Long Island Burglaries
A man could spend the rest of his life behind bars for his back-to-back burglaries on Long Island.
Kevin Carroll, age 41, of Manhattan, was sentenced on Wednesday, Feb. 21 for his 2020 Uniondale burglaries, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
On the evening of June 22, 2020, Carroll forced open the back door of 429 Fenimore Avenue, a Uniondale boarding house that has both shared and single-occupancy rooms.
