Apartments Damaged After Fire Breaks Out On Long Island

Several residences were damaged and multiple people were displaced after a fire broke out at a Long Island apartment complex, police said.

According to officials, the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at one of the units in the Eagle Rock apartment complex on Pond Road in Woodbury in Nassau County.

Upon arrival, police said that first responders found the apartment building fully engulfed by fire.

No injuries were reported, and all occupants of the building were evacuated, police noted.

Following the fire, the Red Cross was notified and is assisting in relocation efforts for those who were displaced.

Responding agencies included fire departments from: 

  • Syosset;
  • Plainview; 
  • Hicksville; 
  • Melville; 
  • Locust Valley; 
  • Cold Spring Harbor;
  • Huntington Manor;
  • East Norwich;
  • Bethpage;
  • Westbury;
  • Oyster Bay.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
