The owner of a restaurant in the region is accused of trying to force underage minors into prostitution.
Capital Region resident David Bacucci, age 42, was arrested on multiple charges Wednesday, Nov. 1, for allegedly promoting prostitution at his Orange County business, Davey’s Barista, located in the village of Goshen on Church Street.

Two men from the region are in serious condition after being struck by a car while standing on the side of a roadway in the region.
The crash took place in Sullivan County around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 29 on Route 17 in the town of Thompson.

A veterinarian and racehorse trainer from the Hudson Valley have received their sentences for their role in a racehorse doping scheme.
Orange County Veterinarian Louis Grasso, age 65, of Pine Bush, and trainer Richard Banca, age 47, of Middletown, were sentenced to 50 months in prison, and 30 months in prison, respectively, for producing, distributing, and administering performance-enhancing drugs as part of the doping case, according to an announcement by the US Attorney's Office from Wednesday, Nov. 16.

A Hudson Valley college student has died at the age of 20.
Orange County resident Kailas A. Ferrari, of Cornwall, died at home on Saturday, July 23.
The daughter of Paul W. and Tammy A. (Sharp) Ferrari, Kailas was born in Middletown, according to her obituary.
A student at SUNY New Paltz, Ferrari was majoring in international relations with a minor in Asian studies.
