POMONA, N.Y. -- Come see former players from the New York Yankees and New York Giants battle it out on the softball diamond in the first-ever New York Legends Softball Game at Palisades Credit Union Park on Sunday, Aug. 14. Nyack Exhibit Showcases David LaChapelle Photos
NYACK, N.Y. -- The work of renowned photographer David LaChapelle is being exhibited in Nyack.They are six large-scale photographs from his "Gas Stations" series. The exhibit is at the Edward Hopper House until Sept. 11. Inspired in part by Edward Hopper's painting, "Gas" (1940), for the series LaChapelle created scale models using common, found objects, which he then photographed on location in the rainforest of Maui. Visitors Enjoy History Lesson At Storming Of Stony Point Reenactment
STONY POINT, N.Y. - Visitors to the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site on Saturday got a history lesson, but in a way that was fun. The site hosted a reenactment of an 18th century military encampment to commemorate the daring midnight assault on the British fortifications at Stony Point in July 1779. Musket, artillery and marching demonstrations were staged, visitors talked to ladies, soldiers and craftsmen in 18th century attire, performing camp chores such as blacksmithing and cooking. NYACK, N.Y. -- A crowd of approximately 20 families gathered on the dock at the end of Main Street, Nyack for their fix of fireworks this past Monday night to commemorate Independence Day, and they certainly weren’t alone.
